Imagination On Fire
Imagination on fire
Burning my muse Trixie's feet
Making her dance hard and fast
She grabs a tree limb off the purple tree.
Swings herself up, hanging upside down.
Eating a psychedelic sandwich.
I do not dare ask what it is.
Fearing the answer might include grubs and worms.
She laughs in my head, and sends her minions
into the forest to collect whatever water they can find.
To bring back to her tree where she is dangling.
Thinking mightily about dropping herself
into the fire of the meadows
I am not worried, knowing she will create
pink grasses that suck up the fire and
break her fall. She never sacrifices herself
in a poem, always me.
