Imagination

If only we could see how she saw the world Just a glimpse would surly suffice If we could feel the butterflies as she twirled Perhaps we could read her eyes Literacy faded as our souls grew tired Like poison ivy, knowledge spread Time suffocated our spark of fire Reality screamed off with our heads Wisdom turned us in to liars So imagination wouldn't become extinct Through our children's eyes, we see that fire Resisting the urge to blink
