I'll sleep before midnight

A Rispetto is a type of poem that is made up of two rhyming quatrains that follow a strict meter. This complete poem is structured with a meter that typically looks like the following: abab ccdd, although there are, of course, other variations that can be had as well. A rispetto often tells a tale or theme of Tuscan folklore, and can be considered a type of lyric within poetry.

The rispetto lyric is generally composed of eight hendecasyllabic (11-syllable) lines. In its earliest form the rhyme scheme was usually abababcc. Later, the scheme ababccdd became more prominent, and other variations can also be found. Normally using 8 syllables.

In the midst of celebration, I care not for confetti dreams. In fireworks there's no elation, so I ignore new year day memes. Only your lips can bring delight, so let me sleep before midnight. My soul is tired, my heart is worn. Without you what's the point of dawn?

Oh this is such a heartfelt and profound write, dear Silent One..I'm not a party person either, what I treasure more is the time spent with my loved ones..I have never done partying on new year's etc. Confetti dreams and fireworks are actually found in the presence of our loved ones.. And you've so beautifully described this in your poem.That second stanza is truly gorgeous, reflecting pure feelings for the beloved~awwn,so wonderful this is.Loved reading this, sending you both, my best wishes :)

Musician Johnny Cash visited the Nickajack Cave, New Hope, Tn in 1967, intending to commit suicide inside it, but had a spiritual experience there that caused him to stop his habit of drug abuse. Country singer Gary Allan recorded a song about this experience on his 2005 album Tough All Over. Wanted to share this with your song choice, love your poem as always and trust you it follows the poem type : ) thanks for sharing and spreading your gift and love throughout

The essence of your poetic creation is fervently interwoven, dear friend. Without any inherent significance, the passage of time manifests itself in the form of numerical figures, which is a proven fact. Thus, we should explore the domain of sincere devotion, as the chance to bask in its glory will not eternally elude us.

New Year for me is usually just putting up a new calendar (becuase I am not a party person), and in the first stanza, I was following along nodding. Until the last 2 lines, which were so poignant and speak of grief. Yet, sad poems are beautiful. Thank you for the meaning in this poem, with an eye on what matters.
