I'Ll Blame It On the Moon

A shattered heart; tears spilling like rain No one would ignite the flames of my desire To this, I swore an oath to never love again until the kiss of a friend, kindled in me a fire His touch was not expected, but felt so right He quoted poems of Byron and then his own Poetry 'neath the stars, I fell in love that night I gave myself eagerly; my heart did condone We walked along the shore, clasping our hands He pulled me close, then we began to explore A time of awakening was not among my plans I quivered in his arms, wanting so much more My oath was then rescinded, but I'm not at fault I'll blame it on the moon, the glimmer of stars, and passionate kisses that unlocked the vault to rid my wounded heart of its jagged scars ~ Inspired by Katie Melua's 'I'll Blame it on the Moon,' written by Mike Batt.

That moon -- responsible for the 'rising tides that lift all ships,' ---as well as 'all lips! Lovely written, Lin! Best wishes, Gershon

That moon, in any phase, plays such an essential part in tides and matters of the heart. Thank you, Gershon.

ooh another sensual little lyric Lin - its great the song inspired you to write and you credited both singer and artist - another gem for my faves. Katie Melua and her husband James Toseland have a home on the Island but I've not seen them around except for pictures at charity events. She is a stunning talented lady:-) hugs Jan xx

I'm so happy that you know of her, and yes...she is as stunning as her voice is charming. I was sharing one of my favorite songs of hers, 'The Closest Thing to Crazy,' and Blame it on the Moon started. I had to write! Thanks for the uplifting comments, as ever, Jan.

Those vault unlocking passionate kisses will do it every time and I am sure all it took was glimpse of you by him and he was already reaching for the key. Lucky guy. : ) Beautiful Lin, I actually wrote a song on this theme titled, "And here you come" Never thought I'd ever love again and here you come.

Those kisses open many doors, and cause many oaths to be forgotten. There's something about moonlight kisses that make them irresistible. I'd love to read your lyrics, Chris, and thank you for the compliments.
