If She Doesn'T Kill Me - She'Ll Make Me Stronger
I woke up this morning
And lit yesterday’s cigarette
Finished off last night’s bottle
It sure helps with all the regrets
Half my life in prison
The rest spent in her prison cell
If it weren’t for the whiskey
My life would’ve been a living hell
I don’t know why I do it
I guess she’s all I’ve ever known
She’s got dinner waiting
At least I’m not stuck here all alone
But when the liquor finally hits her,
She gets mad and mean as hell
The devil wouldn’t want her
And I’m right back in that prison cell
This kind of Life is getting harder and harder
If she doesn’t kill me,
Lord - she’ll make me stronger
It’s another hard morning
It always is after the fight
I guess the good Lord knows what he’s doing
Jack helps me make it through the night
I guess we love each other?
Hell, we wake up and do it all again
Maybe it’s just convenient
Two drunks who’ve become friends
I don’t know why I do it
I guess she’s all I’ve ever known
She’s got dinner waiting
At least I’m not stuck here all alone
But when the liquor finally hits her,
She gets mad and mean as hell
The devil wouldn’t want her
And I’m right back in that prison cell
This kind of Life is getting harder and harder
If she doesn’t kill me,
Lord - she’ll make me stronger
[Bridge]
I’ve done crimes
And I’ve done my time
But this life’s a living hell
If the whiskey doesn’t kill me
Heaven knows - she sure will
When the liquor finally hits her,
She gets mad and mean as hell
The devil wouldn’t want her
And I’m right back in that prison cell
This kind of Life is getting harder and harder
If she doesn’t kill me,
Lord - she’ll make me stronger
If she doesn’t kill me,
Lord - she’ll make me stronger
