If Roses Were Read--
I have a question for the scientist
and also for the rest of us
If roses are read are they words on a page?
and if roses are blue!
Are they crying too?
along with the purple violets
And are they too violent
as the stem of the rose
They have pricks and thorns
a matter of which have you ever been stung by a bee
Have you ever swam across the seas
and as for the rest of us
Still sleeping on a city bus
Ha! Ha! Ha!, wake up put down your nose?
I'll just settle to smell the petals of the rose
