If Life Was Perfect

If life was perfect I would lay Beneath the clouds every day Count the stars up in the sky Let the daytime pass me by If life was perfect twenty-four-seven Everyone would go to Heaven Every plant would grow real tall And every kid would be good at ball If life was perfect here on Earth None of the money would be any worth All would share and get along No one doing anything wrong Well, life’s not like that now, you see Not everyone’s right, not everyone’s free Not all of the plants are really tall And not all of the kids are good at ball But, when you sit back and relax a while Think of the things that make you smile The grass is green, the sky is blue You have some clothes and you’ve got two shoes Even though there are deaths and wars You’ve got some things to be thankful for Though all of those tears may really be worth it Life’s pretty good; it doesn’t have to be perfect

I really love the theme about life not being perfect and I think we all have a lot to be thankful for despite all the bad.
