If I Was Your Poem
IF I WAS YOUR POEM
If I was your poem, my soul left wide open by your words
Would I be blessed by pen or be wounded by your swords
Would you lift me up or take your chance to cut me down
Sail me across an ocean or let me capsize and then drown
My life would be in your hands as written within these lines
Would I recognize all the innuendos, would I see the signs
See all the characteristics, I would otherwise be blinded to
Would I have a better understanding of myself and all I do
Or better still, would I have a better understanding of you
Of a character assassination and the picture that you drew
