If I Had One Day Left To Live

If I had one day left to live
I would sign that card to make sure my organs I give.
If I had one day left to breathe
I would spend some time just taking in the breeze.
If I had one day left alive
Living it to the fullest I would strive.
If I had one day left to pray
I would ask God for a beautiful day.
If I had one day left to enjoy
I would read my son a last bedtime story.

If I had one last meal to make,
I would eat potatoes and a real rare steak.
If I had one last dollar to spend,
I would buy something nice for my best friend.
If I had one last poem to write,
I would make sure that the words rhymed right.
If I had one last sunset to see,
I would want my wife sitting alone with me.
If I had one last gasp of air,
I would want my children all to be there.

But please don’t worry, I am really okay,
Just sitting here wondering about my last day.
