If I Could Talk To God..

i'd like to ask you some questions
if you will speak the truth to me
how do you sleep at night
knowing the homeless are on the streets
knowing bombs are falling
and children are crying
how do you sleep at night
when earthquakes rip apart some ones home
when floods wash away all he had
and pregnant women are starving

i'd like to ask you some questions
if you will speak the truth to me
what do you see when you look in the mirror
are you proud?
knowing you created this mess
knowing you are responsible
for deaths
what do you see when you look in the mirror
are you proud
when you are supposed to be our almighty
when you are supposed to protect us
look at us now

very nice poem, i raised some similar questions in my poem 'thirteen minutes with...', are you entering it into the competition? If you are I wish you all the luck in the world, as these are some pertinent questions to ask the divine, but really all we need do is look in the mirror and ask ourselves the very same questions, as you and I are both to blame. much love and light fellow human.

I think the creator may be asking us these same questions, but that's my take on it. You cetrainly shared them well and did a very nice job of conveying your feelings. Good for you on your reply below. Again, welcome to the Soup and look forward to seeing more of your work. Had a very nice trip through your five poems. Thanks! ~<><

i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion and this is mine how i invisage something maybe be different to you but isnt this a world where we accept different points of view without being criticised for them for example being called foolish ! this is my opinion portrayed into my own writing i would not criticise yours or anyone elses beliefs however different to mine

I believe, god created this beautiful world we live in, he also gave us choice, and unfortunately we don't always make the right choices, the world was created with thought, and if we all thought the same way, we would realize we are living in heaven on earth, people become what they think about, and many have bad thoughts, god loves us , we should all love ourselves, and all would see beauty. love Simone

Every good and perfect gift is from above. If it is not good or perfect, it didn't come from above. Satan is here to kill, steal and destroy. He is the adversary. Interesting approach to the questions that we all ask from time to time. The question is what do you do when you hear of these things and there is something that you can do to help the situation. Keep writing. Sara
