If He Knew
If he knew,
How much he shuttered me from the Light;
And how little,
He blinded me from all sight.
He would,
Certainly seek some of all revenge;
If only,
He knew I oiled every squeaky henge.
He would,
Come after me non-stop;
If he,
Knew I leap, skip and hop.
If I,
Told you he did dope;
He would,
Strip me of all hope.
Certainly,
He wouldn't think twice;
At killing,
Even the fewest squeaking mice.
So,
At night I hide and wait to die;
Knowing,
If I see tomorrow;
I was,
More than he strong and did not cry.
