Notes About The Poem

For the Picture Prompt Contest of  Margarita Lillico

If Giraffes

If giraffes by your window come near
and at food on your table they peer -
close that window before
your nice meal they explore
with long tongues that make food disappear!

Dear sweet andrea you are so good at these and making rhymes look and sound so flawless. They actually have a place like this in kenya, iv seen and wanted to always visit as my twin sister is an animal lover: i love the way your words flow and how cute your limerick is! With long tongues… that line is perfect as an ending! Pleasure always reading your work. Best wishes for the contest:

I think giraffes are some of the coolest animals in the world and a sight to behold considering their height. Nice limerick

Yes. My town used to have a small zoo and they reached down their necks to get the food in our hands

Yes, long black tongues. LOL..They are elegant animals, but wild and dangerous. I have seen some in captivity and held up some food for them to eat, but they are dangerous. I have seen them on TV fight with those strong necks and one blow would wipe a person out. Nice Limerick though. Very nice picture. I wonder how it was created. Sara K
