If I just weren’t afraid to do all the things I wish were true. I’d do the things all by myself I fear I need somebody else. Like drive away to Niagara Falls which to my inner spirit calls or drive away to anywhere instead of taking train or air. If I just weren’t afraid to say things to shape the kind of day with the words that often haunt my mind because I want, I want to ask for love I may not get and have a hurt of deep regret. If I just weren’t afraid to go where I need and feel I know a real romance could probably be waiting in the wings for me. Because I need the inner guts for the ifs, ands, no’s or buts. Yet, I am not afraid to write of all the things I dream I might. 9/16/19 IF I WEREN'T AFRAID Poetry Contest Sponsor: Line Gauthier
