If Dreams Came True
If I could choose a dream of mine,
A dream that may come true,
I would not choose a selfish dream
For that would not be right.
This dream must be magnificent
And a benefit to all.
The world right now is hurting
And I must choose carefully.
Would it be an end to cancer?
A worthy dream indeed,
Or perhaps an end to world hunger.
I hear applause for that.
No, I would dream that wars would end
And peace would reign supreme.
In every corner of the world,
Each man would love his neighbor.
If wars ended forever, the other dreams
Could then at last come true,
When energy we use to quarrel
Is put to a better use.
Two thousand years ago, He came
To bring peace to the Earth,
But foolish man defied Him and
We slaughter one another.
His simple message, "Love Thy Neighbor",
Is all we need to make big dreams come true!
