Idle Dreams
For hours I sit sealed away in my room
Free from the world if only temporarily
These four walls know me better than I know myself
my mirror always a silent observer but a constant reminder of my solitude.
I look out my window and am greeted by the world I want to escape from
A dull town that knows no progression
knows nothing of nourishing the life of the party
I close the blinds as I fall back to my bed with disdain
I experience moments of unconsciousness as I long for the places I'd rather be
I look out my window and remind myself why I love to be alone
Seclusion is my keeper yet my worst enemy
