Ice House

Old man winter has been busy
Leaving frost and freeze across the land
Rooftops transformed into white wonderland
That green grass is white as snow
Waiting for the warmth of the sun to grow
To go outside into the cold it not a wish
We would rather be inside eating a warm dish

Amen to that. Winter can be a cruel beauty at times. We were down to 5 degrees a few nights almost two weeks ago. Grand writing, Elena. Hugs and blessings ~

For sure:) I have lived in Phoenix for the last 35 years. Have not gone up north once to see the snow. No desire. "To go outside into the cold it not a wish We would rather be inside eating a warm dish" Well said.

Brrrr... that sounds and feels so cold Elena, but your words make it sound so beautiful too... Here in the UK the sun is out in a clear blue sky although it is a little chilly. Keep warm and safe Elena. With kindest thoughts Ann xx

When the weather turns cold, my mouth starts watering for certain dishes. Cooking them warms the house, eating them the soul. Enjoyed reading your poem, Elena. welcome to Poetry Soup!
