Ice

The woods are a crystal cathedral,
   trees sculpted of glass.
Brittle branches clink
   when the wind whispers -
glistening, deadly beauty
   frozen in time.

Great imagery - like the "clink" onomatopoeia. Congrats on your win Agnes! :-)

There is beauty glistening in this and the sharp edge of fear looming overhead. There is an enchantment in the form of sparkling structure reflecting the sun and a chill that brings shivers this time of year. Such a nicely written piece Agnes. Well deserving of the top spot. Bravo.

Lovely Agnes. I love a winter scene like this. As you say, beautiful but deadly. You have to have a way to stay warm to enjoy it. Everything is hungry this time of year so I like to make a warm place out of the wind to scatter bird seed. Great job. A seven from me. God Bless, JB

I really like your poem Agnes, you have a great descriptive writing skill. Thank you for your comment on my " Fear " poem. If you look at fear like a dark cloud, don't run from it, it does dissipate on its own.
