i would not have thought of it

I would not have thought of it myself
to make love to drive away the crazy,
to be wary of virtuous principals,
to think of you more than New York,
I would not have thought of it alone,

I would not have thought of it myself,
to cross California on a horse,
To forget about the psychopaths,
to kiss you rather than become a writer,
I would not have thought of it alone,

I would not have thought of it myself,
to read Descartes and Montaigne to dream,
to be wary of strangers who walk,
to trust Alice more than the poets,
I would not have thought of it alone,

I would not have thought of it myself,
to understand the silences that I listen,
to make French cuisine to be lucid,
to make love to drive away the crazy,
I would not have thought of it alone,

Such an interesting way to give credit to someone who shared inspiring thoughts. Some great inventions began as shared ideas. I really liked your poem.

No man is an island, as the poem goes. And in the words of an old song, everybody needs somebody sometimes. Love the way you've conveyed that message through this beautiful poem. :)

We accomplish many things with the help of others. We might not have thought of doing things alone. I like your refrain in the poem. Have a great week ahead, dear Yaan.

Definitely creative lines penned. I enjoyed it. Sometimes it takes another person to think of something then the other person to try it. LOL..Sometimes it takes the other person to just say no. LOL..Sara K

We need others so we can grow, hopefully become better, more adventurous, wiser…we don’t do life by ourselves.
