Here I am in a place so familiar;
I've transported myself
To a serene distant shore
With periwinkle blue skies
Hovering above my head.
It's soothingly tranquil here.
The sights and sounds are captivating!
I hear faint mellifluous bird songs,
Incessantly murmuring zephyr
And the sounds of crashing waves.
I watch the waves crash
As I inhale the misty sea air;
I feel it on my skin, but alas,
It's not the same without you this time.
As I watch the waves crash yonder,
Exploding sky-high on jagged rocks,
My mind holds only thoughts of you.
We've waded into this diaphanous,
Knee-deep shallows together.
We stamped our footprints on these white sands
Not so long ago. I feel the paradise blues
Because I desperately miss you
And wish you were here.
Isn't this haven made for lovers anymore?
This peaceful shore would be heaven
Only if you were here
Chasing the afternoon sun with me.
Despite it's beauty, it's the loneliest place.
Nature blows a sad trombone
As I watch the waves crash
