I Wish You Knew Me

I wish you knew me better
You would be my best friend
I wish you knew me better
You would treat me with respect
I wish you knew me better
You would confirm I am not evil
I wish you knew me better
You would glorify my God
I wish you knew me better
You would trust and cherish me
I wish you knew me better
You would stand by me
Through tick and thin
I wish you knew me well enough
You would let me
Lean on your shoulders
I wish you knew me better
You would appreciate
What I stand for
I wish you knew me better
Life would be more meaningful
To you my compatriots

Come closer to me my brothers
Do not stay far off my sisters
Judge me not from a far
Read me and be enlightened
