I Wish My Reality Were

“Heavenly shades of night are falling,” yet I’m feeling so blue. for I have found only one way that I can be with you. “I’ve just closed my eyes again” at the end of a lonely day, anxious to be with you as all the mundane slips away. “Oh, my love, my darling,” your kisses are sweeter than sweet. I’m living my days for the nights, for only in dreams do we meet. I wish my reality were, instead, these nights of pure bliss. Then it could mean just one thing: “I was dreaming when I wrote this.”
Phrases used in my poem came from: Verse 1: Twilight Time/ The Platters Verse 2: Dream Weaver/ REO Speedwagon Verse 3: Unchained Melody/ The Righteous Brothers Verse 4: 1999/ Prince For the Reality contest of Nayda

This is such a sweet and romantic take on the challenge, Andrea-- I am still thinking of what to write-- this contest sure is coming up with such very nice writes :) way to go for yours :) & thanks for the fave, that means so much to me-- and yes, it actually happened and hmm not exactly him being the cat, more of that he sent the cat? Since there was a time that he loved cats, & for some reason, there were a few times when I felt him there and a cat was also there... hugs to you :)

You are doing wonderfuly well with these lines as inspiration. To answer your question about mayo or salad dresing. I try to duplicate my mom's homemde recipe. It is so special. She started out with pure ceam from the farm. I start with mayonnaise and then add vinegar, sugar , mustard to it. I mix it to taste. Love, Joyce

Brilliant, Andrea. My sister used to play that old Platters song over and over again. There was something magical about it. Unchained Melody is one of my all-time faves, especially after seeing "Ghost." You wove these songs together very well and I'm sure you have a winner here. Love, Carolyn

Great work Andrea. A winner I am sure. I have not tried this contest. I am not hep enough for the new songs and I can't understand a word they say anyway. I am still at my brothers so cannot be very active on the site. Going home again Monday. I have to write poems for our new district officers as we put them into office and for an invocation for our state convention in June. I can't seem to think here in the confusion of a sick household. Love, Joyce
