I Wish I Had Known

Ten years ago I wish I would have known
That seventy is not as young and sparkly as sixty
There might be arthritis in both ankles
When you step in winter it could feel like a sword comes up your foot
So do everything now, at sixty, while you can.

Ha! What would you have done about it then? Probably nothing different. I am in agreement with you about all the unexpected aches and pains of being older - never thought it could happen to me!

I still cannot believe I am 70! I forget until BAM some new ache and pain shoots through my body.

I always wondered why people waited to retire to do the things they love. If you're still around at retirement age, you're not always able to hike the Pyranees, travel exotic places, or just enjoy a simple walk. As my travel agent says, "If you can afford to go first class and do not, your heirs will."

That is so true, Caren, The older you get, the faster time seems to pass; I was 85 a week ago, and here comes 90.

Yep, if I had only known I would have taken better care of myself with a good diet and exercise. I was really slender until I turned 60, and then, something happened!

Lol, you may be confusing bone-spurs with arthritis. I wish I would have known that a woman can still join the army at 38! I tried at 21, but I didn't want to give into the adoption policy. Live big now...why not? ~Anaya

I agree, but I'll have to do everything now at 77 before I hit 80. :-) Good advice. Hugs, Bill
