I Was Right
I WAS RIGHT!
I was right, but I was left
to contemplate the joy
of being right.
I was correct, but in effect
it’s quite the same
as being right.
I was wrong but not for long
as someone said
I might be right.
I leaned right, she leaned left,
and thus
we fell apart.
I was right, and so was she,
how could we both
be wrong?
