Notes About The Poem

I Want Viv Wigleys Hat

I want to be the man in that black hat
Sitting down under where the Aussies do play
Drinking in barrels, Bundaberg ale
Smiling under my cool black hat 

Now I haven’t his hat
Nor that cool Aussie accent
I don’t live down under
Not even drinking that Bundaberg thunder

So I sit in a bar
Up north with Santa
Whose hat is jolly and so very red 
Not a lady in site and this night I do dread

Left with no options, no none at all
I steal Vigleys’ hat and man do I feel tall
As I strolled by the ladies all along the beach
They stare at my hat and oh my do they screech!!!!
