I Took a Walk

I took a walk right off the edge. And lost my balance on the ledge. To fall so deep in my abyss. I can't remember what I miss. The time goes by at it's own pace. And leaves me trying to save some face. To search my soul and find a trace. In hopes I'll find my saving grace. The air I breath is getting cold. As autumn has been bought and sold. The trees are bare and seem to stare. As old man winter has not a care. I took a walk as far as night. Until the sun was out of sight. To find a place to warm my heart. Someone to love and not depart. A lonely man knows all too well. How to be cold and burn in hell. But still he searches for the light. And walks to not give up the fight.

Hi Robert, nice to see you again, how are you, this is such a lovely poem my friend, you really show your feelings in this one and to me that is what poetry is all about, I don't know about you but if I write about my feelings it makes me feel better, as they say better out than in, good luck in the future and take care.....Vera
