I Smile

Floating outside a roar in my ears the vast cold seeps into the folds of my being Not now, not yet, I struggle with the rope and the gadget There -- attachment despite myself I smile... drenching perspiration halts at the precipice The spacecraft barren, howls My smile shivers

Thanks for the positive feedback on this admittedly grim look at unexpectedly tough frontier. Appreciated, Connie. :) Gershon

Thank you. It's an honor for me that you read my poetry. You surely subscribe to the 'Big Tent Universe Theory' to include my attempts at verse. Thank you, again, my friend. Cheers, Gershon

Gosh, it must be amazing to experience the weightlessness of space, Gershon. There has to be at least some anxiety when we are alone in space, wondering if we'll make it back to Earth. I love the way you describe the scene your astronaut encounters. Hugs for you, Carolyn

Thank you so much, Carolyn for your praise for this write, but I probably should confess that I was 'lost in space' --- mentally. Too old to outjump gravity these days. Smiles, Gershon
