I Should Have Been There For You
You were crying and so all alone, and I should have been and I should have been there;
You were out there on your own, and I should have been and I should have been, been there;
You were covered in shame;
People defame your name;
And I Oh I just should have been there;
I should have been there for you;
Like Jesus is
And was, and always;
I should have been there, I should have been there for you;
I should have been present because I told you, I mean it;
You mean so much to me;
That I'm engulfed in your symphony;
Now can I just be forever in your destiny;
You were trying to be strong, until failure and hurt came along;
I should have been there for you;
You were out there crying, trying but I should have been there;
And I should have been and I should have been, been there;
If I really, really cared (as I said) then I would have, should have been there;
I should have been there for you;
You were at home all alone, didn't even pick up to call you on the phone;
Could have dropped by your home, but I was to afraid of being ignored;
Like Jesus is
And was, and always;
I should have been there, I should have been there for you;
Always presents with a message
I should have been present because I told you, you mean it;
You mean so much to me;
That I'm engulfed in your symphony;
Now I can just be forever in your ever present destiny;
I should have been there;
I should have been there for you;
