I Sense Her Everywhere

I see her in the wispy figures of the dawn's mist out over the lake, ferried away on gentle breezes evaporating into the unknown... I smell her in the husky aroma of a morning's rich cup of coffee, as I sip her fragrance awakening my every instinct... I hear her voice in the still of a late afternoon's forest walk in the winds whistling through bare branches high above me in the underbrush yielding to my furtive steps... I sense her everywhere I look, everywhere I turn everywhere my spirit guides me, yearning for her reaching for her deep in the bosom of life's embrace

THIS is very good, Gershon! You evoke her spirit in both a natural and almost 'holy' way-- I only wish you wrote it longer, man! Oh, and happy holidays, old friend....

Thank YOU so much for the encouragement, L.J! Your kind words inspired me to re-read this one more critically, and I see that you're spot on: Another couple of stanzas or so would really work well---if I only had had/now have them in me... Wishing you Holiday Happiness, Gershon

Your poem recalls the feelings I had when I first heard the Beatles' song "Here, There and Everywhere," Gershon. You have a real talent for creating the romance in your poetry. Congratulations on your win in Brian's contest, Carolyn
