I Send You My Love

Losing my son was so hard to endure, a fine young man with a heart that was pure. Our family and friends came to our side, they held us close and together we cried. After the funeral the very next day, I came to his grave to kneel and to pray. I asked the Lord to help me to see, the purpose of death and why it must be. The smell of flowers from a day old grave, sadly this memory I have chosen to save. My dear sweet son I will hold in my heart, for a small plot of earth will keep us apart. As the years pass, visits become few, for what is a stone to me and to you. I know I will see you in Heaven above, so I pray to the Lord and send you my love. 12/20/18

Hi Wren, This is the first time I have visited your page and went straight to this poem. I sobbed my heart out but then re-read it and we both know your son is cradled in the Lord's arms. God has given you and your family the courage to carry on with your lives, secure in the knowledge that you will meet again in the hallways of the great sky. I lost my first child at 5 days old , devastating for a parent. Blessings on you and yours, Poetry wishes, Jennifer.

Thank you Jennifer for your kind words. This is a hard time of the year for my wife and I. Caleb passed away Jan. 20, 2009. It will make ten years. Since then my mother and father have joined him in Heaven. I'm comforted knowing they are all together. I am sorry to hear of your loss, but your child is in God's arms as well. Thanks for the visit my friend.

So touching. … Wishing you only additions in life. No more subtractions! ... They say the hardest thing in life is losing a child...When one of my sisters died at age 37, my mother's grief knew no bounds … May the beautiful closing thought in the poem come to fruition (but not for a while). Holiday Best! ~ Gershon

Thank you for your kind words. Caleb was 19 years old, it has been 10 years, but it feels like yesterday. I know just like me you too will see those you love again.
