I Often Wonder Why
Sometimes at night I sit and think
About the days gone by
Underneath the stars so bright
I often wonder why
Maybe it could've been different
In another place and time
If only we'd met sooner
As kids at the five and dime
I know I could've loved you best
with all my heart and soul
If only things had been different
Some thirteen years ago
I know I cannot keep you
Lord knows I'd like to try
But for this chance of loving you
I'll never wonder why
