I Never Cry At Weddings

Listen to poem:
I never cry at weddings, none shed, no apologies to say.. Though the days, up and gone, how soon you've flown away. I shared much of life without, and would I ever will it.. were I to be so selfish, and wish the same of you? Just weakness in watery eyes.. moments precious now.. though my oh my, how few. No, that would never do. No, I never cry at weddings.. well, almost never.. do you?

- I must admit that I cry at weddings ... not because I'm sad ... but because of beauty, love and joy, Richard :) - A lovely poem :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

"Beautiful" just like a wedding. Any tears should be of joy/happiness for the couple. Have a blessed day writing away.............

Paul, 'Stiff upper lip'., what I was going for. And you nailed it. This flotsam and jetsam poem could work equally for a funeral. Even if it was my own. -Richard

Tears of joy and why not, happy occasions make us emotional at times. Hope your week is off to a good start Richard. Tom

Of course you cry. Those are special tears at special moment--why would one let the moment pass by. Awesome, emotive rendering, Richard.

If I know how much the bride was yearning or the tear in the groom’s eye at how lucky he is. Still after years of knowing how these marriages turn out, more cynical. The best are the weddings that bring out laughter. I think they have more chance. Mine did!

Love the melody, so wistful and yearning (did you compose it?) - and those precious few moments (now there's something in my eye!)
