I Need the Winter To Survive

When the snow falls this year, I shall heal with ease, all darkness that lingered shall disappear, and when all the Autumn air begins to cease, I shall realize that Winter is the only one here. This is the season to release all my dreaded fear. When the icicles freeze I shall be free from emotion, all the dangling and tangling of my youth shall go- When a heart is too forgiving and filled with devotion, it can cause too much torment and anguished woe. I have been to the highest mount, and to the lowest low. I need not the warm Summer air to be free from pain, it seems Winter is the only thing that can bring mercy- When the icy sidewalks come only love can remain, and take away all the heartbreak that follows me. It is the time of year for my frigid eyes to see. Oh, save me from the falling of the Autumn leaves, may my crimson an brown stained heart slowly fade- I know that Winter is the only thing that believes in what I have had to become; what truth I have made. So, I sit here in silence…oh, if only you had stayed. December 10, 2017
