I Love You the Way You Are
You stand in front of the mirror
disgusted with what you see;
even though I try convincing you
its all beautiful to me.
You compare yourself to the you you were
as a young girl at age nineteen;
but the body that you wear right now
is the best fit I’ve ever seen.
You say that you’re not comfortable
making love while looking this way;
but I’d be honored to lie naked in bed with you
tonight and every day.
Everything you see looks out of place
and you examine every flaw;
but I think the years look great on you
and love you the way you are.
