I Love You
I love the fact
your lunch is packed
and hold a tear
to calm your fear,
as you act cool
first day of school.
I love your smile,
it's been a while
but I've seen it
grow, bit by bit,
and when you go
I'll miss it so.
I love the fall,
you'll have a ball
with your new friends.
And when school ends
you'll bring some back
to get a snack.
I love the bus,
it's close to us
and picks you up,
so I'm not stuck
to drive you down
to the school ground.
I love this day
you're on your way
friends by your side,
life's a wild ride
with ups and downs,
some smiles, some frowns.
And I love you;
you know that's true!
