Notes About The Poem

To sit and simply enjoy the peace is soothing for the mind, body and soul.

I LOVE THE RAIN

When the rain is really pouring down,
And the sky's overcast and grey,
I love how it freshens the streets of the town,
And watching the children play.

They chase each other and splash in the puddles,
Sail the seas in small paper boats,
Laughing, playing, running through the rain,
In their new brightly colored raincoats,

And nothing's quite like a nice warm bath,
After a walk in the rain.
Then I'll settle back with a hot cup of tea,
And watch it splash on my window pane.

The sound of the rain falling outside,
A nice cozy fire inside,
And I drift off to Dream Land,
With you here by my side.

Judy, what delightful lines extolling the wonder of a rainy day! These wonderfully described scenes are near and dear to my heart being an inveterate northwesterner! These are scenes from my childhood! Thank you for such lovely lines. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Sending blessings of joy to you!

Lovely and sweet, Judy... Side 'B' of 'I Love the Rain:' Who needs the rain? We grow hydroponics. If they don't fill you up, wash 'em down with gin and tonic. ~ Tra-la, Gershon

If that's the way one experiences rain, I'd want it to rain a lot more than it does here in Texas. Beautiful imagery, Judy. A FAV for my list, my friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

Nothing bears a good downpour Judy, love the freshness it brings afterwards. Used to work outside in all weathers so it never bothered me. Hope you and your family have a very happy Christmas and good health and happiness in 2024. Tom

Thank you so much Tom. I sure could use a break from the bad luck the past two years have had. God Bless and Merry Christmas, JB
