I Long To Seranade a Happy Marmaid

I will submerge myself in cold waters to seranade a happy marmaid; a beautiful one who loves to dance when my mandolin is not sad. Will she be fretted when I'll follow her, asking her to listen to my new song; will I survive as marmaids do in deep water? I earnestly wish she would sing along. Perhaps, I've been standing for too long on this shore soaring as a kite, imagining her to raise from the bubbling, white waves and take me in...as if I didn't care whether I lived or died in an ocean where all treasures are concealed as many lost and buried loves.. Let that be my last and only wish before sunlight leaves the purple sky, no desire is ever this intense to make me venturous and unafraid; I'll stroke the strings as a mandoliner does, I will even believe in a lie... by swearing upon this consuming breath: I long to serenade a happy marmaid!

I love the melody tht flows throughout this delghtful poem, Andrew. Men have been captivated by mermaids for many years and I love the image of you standing on the shore with your mandolin, waiting to serenade her. Beautifully written, my friend. Love, Carolyn
