Peace lifts the burdens,
That the strongest arms cannot lift.
Hope silences the worries,
That the richest man cannot mute.
Faith ends the doors to doubting,
That the sweetest assurance cannot close.
Love erases the darkest burdens,
That the greatest solace cannot remove.
Wherever my heart stirs a purpose,
Wherever the winds of joy move,
Wherever my spirit is shadowed by laughter,
Wherever the morning pours out its fresh dew,
Wherever my soul meets the warmth of light,
Wherever the sun kisses away my past,
Wherever my mind pleads for relief,
Wherever the music sings of grace….
There, upon the wonder of a life built on the rock,
The One who quiets every wrong,
The One who abides inside my soul,
The One who never dies and never grows old,
The One who is worthy of every praise I can offer,
The One who can still the winds,
The One who can fill hearts with serenity within,
The One who is my very best friend…
There, I will build my dreams, attempt to complete…
The life that He gave, with a song in my soul –
A song of light and hope, a song of love that grows…
So that I will forever know – the One who is the rock,
Who I’ve built my hopes upon, the rock…
Who never allows doubt to discourage my heart,
The One who makes my life feel like I can go on…
Even when sorrows seem more alive than the stars,
Even when shadows discourage my dreams,
Even when I don’t know anything except grief…
He is there, giving me the answers to every prayer,
Coloring my heart in grace and faith,
Stirring my soul to keep listening to the love,
The love that sings through me – because He knew me,
Even before I entered my mother’s womb…
He knew me, He drew me… and because of His love,
I’ll always turn to Him, the One who made me sure…
I can face the fears, the tears and the years…
With the assurance that He’ll accompany me,
Through every pain, every sorrow, every shame.
Because I know the One who is everything to me,
I can claim the victory – with Him, I can’t fail.
I have all I need to succeed, to reach the promised land,
Where I will always feel the warmth of His light,
Falling over my spirit, as I move closer to the flow…
Love that is endless, love that is life, love that is alive,
It glows throughout heaven – it is Jesus Christ,
The light who survives throughout all time…
With Him beside me, a guide to me, I have all I need.
With Him, I am free of the enemy who pursues.
I have what it takes – Jesus… the reason I am so sure!
