i don't like cats, really

I don’t like cats, really,
They scare away birds, pretty ****,
The robin, the blackbird so smart,
They think only of eating weaker than them,
That to jump the balls of innocent wool,
My garden had a sweet music yesterday,
Today it is quieter than a grave,
Cats scare away, nice birds,
They don’t see much further than their pretty nose,
Oh the caresses they expect, what false money,
Turn your back; they devour all your friends.

Yann, Beautiful poem. Cats should be kept inside as house pets, then this wouldn't be such a problem.

wow, that's one way of seeing it. MY cats have never killed birds or mice. They see one and do not even know what to do with it! They are indoor cats, the only way to keep a cat and have them be nice and well trained!

I haven't seen cats roaming around for quite some time now, I used to as a child before animal control came and picked up all the strays! They bring creatures as gifts, naughty cats. I really enjoyed your clever poem, Yann [mésanges] is pale green, why is it in English as **** ? co-piolet says it means blue tits. aha

Cats are definately different than dogs. I love seeing my 14 year old grandson chase his cat…he will catch and hold him…lol. A few years back his dad (my son) was setting off fireworks in the road next to their driveway. The young pup was scared and trying to move away…”No, no, no,” says my grand, holds him while they sit in chair. Too funny to watch! That dog is likely braver than most…shrug ;)

Thank you so much Kim, for sharing anecdotes of your son and grandson, this is enlightening and so original, i totally agree that cats and dogs are very different, for the bravery, i think it depends of each dog and each cat, i have no comparison in mind, have a sweet week end

Yep, they are terrorists at times. I am certain that both Pavlov and his dog where both conditioned by Pavlov's cat. I got two, but I keep them indoors. Safer for them...and they are hunters by nature. Oh, I did not buy them. They were feral strays. I hear you. I have a bird bath out in the garden, and every now and then I pick up, what is left, a pile of feathers after a cat attack. It is heart breaking. Life. Nature. Hmm, could be better done I think. Blessings.

You don't like cats as they scare away birds that come to your garden. Like you, my husband doesn't like cats and he drives them away, though I really love them and wish to keep one as a pet. Here our interests clash! I can justify the reason for your dislike. Really enjoyed reading this.

It's too bad that cats destroy the lovely birds. I wish they could be friends. It was a pleasure to read this beautifully written poem.

For sure, birds are their favorite food next to squirrels, chipmunks and rats. Yann, thank you for sharing your talent with us. Sara K
