I Do Need You So Lord, But Why
For order, law, and morals, they may say,
and all are gifts of your hand, 'tis true.
But your glory eclipses any code,
and I wish to offer proper praise to you.
For my past, and the universe of stars,
were all set in place by your design,
born in a flash of time and space,
history, yea, it owes to the divine.
For the moment, now, as I contemplate,
methods to praise your matchless name,
Being you are, and Love is your form,
And you fashioned me for the same.
For the future, may I come to love and serve true,
It's my nature, not question, that I need you.
