I Do Apologize
I never bothered to offer you dinner nor even to say, “Hello”.
Didn’t want you to be a part of my life, but I did allow you to give
Of yourself without due respect from me, not even to say ‘Thank you”.
After noticing that you ceased to make your nightly rounds, I was concerned.
Please forgive me for the way I treated you because you deserved much more. 'O my God!' is what I felt inside my cold heart as I realized what I'd done. Letting you slip away was a crying shame when all you wanted to do was to please me.
Opportunities for meeting someone like you are rare, and I blew it some awful. God has forgiven me, and I will never repeat this mistake again as long as I live. I was selfish and indifferent, too blind to see your selfless love for me. Zero tolerance for pets made me an absolute failure at seeking to bond with you.
Everywhere I go, I will take your story with me and never forget to reach out and love on cats like you.
