I Cried Again Today

I cried again today
though no tears were seen
for I chose not to show them.
The reason(s) for these tears
are known only within myself
for no one wants to hear them.
No outward scars are visible
from the abuse I've come to know
for its mental, not physical pain
that you choose to inflict.
You appear not to notice
the hurt your words create
for this would reveal to everyone
the true self within you.
This world I find solace in
will remain forever and always
except to me, a silent one
for my tears are mine alone
and I will share them with no one.

Your poem has deeply touched me. Your use of remarkable expressions is laudable. You say that you have not shared your tears, but you have. Your poem shows them rolling down your cheeks. Congrats on being featured

Sometimes Melody that is what we all do. And like you, we choose not to reveal what or why we feel as we do. May your tears help wash away your pain. God Bless, Cile

Abuse is abuse. It comes in many forms, but it is still criminal. Congratulations on your featured write, "I Cried Again Today." Vince

No one should suffer abuse of any kind. You should not keep this bottled up inside. Congratulations on your featured write of the week. Hope things have changed for the better since you wrote this. Good luck. Love, Shar
