I Choose the Light
Tears have stained my cheeks,
words tearing at my sanity,
hurt caressing my body.
I chose the dark.
Pictures mock me,
hurtful hands were welcomed,
sticks and stones broke my soul.
I chose the dark.
Loneliness encased my heart,
black filled my chest,
away I'd turn.
I chose the dark.
No More.
Their words roll off me like rain on a rose petal,
love soaked in like desert rain,
eyes alight with bliss,
a glow in my cheeks,
trust caresses my body,
chance encases my heart,
free with my inncocents,
life is alive again,
I choose the light.
