I Can Finally Fly

Every single time I try To open my hearts wings and fly Soaring up above the sorrow Toward a bright and new tomorrow They start to shake and tremble badly Thinking of the times you had me In your grasp leaving me pain Over and over again I felt hurt not any love As I'm flying up above My hearts emotions tend to stay Very very far away From another lovers grip I begin to slide and slip The wings on my heart don't flutter Scared that it might find another Lover who will be as mean And the awful days its seen You clipped my wings leaving me Stranded in such misery Fixing them to fly once more Has been a long and sad chore Hopefully one day I can Fly to a kind gentle man Who will bandage up my wings With the sweetness he will bring Showing me blue skies as we Soar up above so happily Feeling the wind again Wings on my heart on the mend
