I Apologize To All In Advance
I APOLOGIZE TO ALL IN ADVANCE
I want to apologize to all in advance; if I am more little than rude
I have traveled a long way and can appear a little bit over shrewd
Happy in life have I been; to walk along wearing others old shoes
Though now I can say I am picky just to whose old shoes I chose
It is fair to say just like others; I have been in life to hell and back
It has made me as very arrogant and times more often I lack tact
But I'm not born from bad intentions when I put across my views
I can pick funny, sad and happy; and can get stuck into the blues
Then any way but loose as I can just shove it in between the lines
And not far I would say getting it down; so it comes up in rhymes
Reading other learned poets I can more than see the hidden depth
There are times I end up thinking have we somewhere already met
So in any way I end up offending you I can assure it wasn't meant
As I was born in a farmyard me, and not down at the nun convent
My motto to myself always remains the same is just to let it all flow
If what I write doesn’t get a rating then just get on with it, let it go
There is more I could write about, but; not all my poems let it show
As I'm just a quick and easy lass to ever get into the corrected flow
Would just love to write a sonnet and wow you all between the eyes
But it's just not my forte; if I did it would just to me be tongue-tied
Some write about the cosmos, but; to me, it never seems to appeal
Others write with such intellect; like it's understood and a done deal
Others write of words that seem to liquefy and, to us all they anoint
Whereas the common old me writes; as to, get straight to the point
My mind cannot cope; with the metaphors, it takes to write the lines
To the rules and regulations; that make poetry, I can't see the signs
Expanding my written vocabulary is for me never going to be an aim
As I know what I put down to others can seem a bit more than lame
I pen as it comes leaving those brave enough to read and so endure
With this brazen overrated brave imagination of I, Miss Indiana Shaw
