I Am Becoming
I Am Becoming (Not Like a Woman)
Maybe they might have been meticulous
And were also an erudite and ubiquitous
With poetic majesty and so much splendor
That are rough or at times also tender.
Should I be a Shakespeare, Shelley or Keats
With all of their minds mine quite often meets
Also famous Frost and then truly Thoreau
Into one of them one day I'm sure to grow.
Then that night someone called my poems trash
But resembled thinking of Will Rogers and Nash
Now, would all of my poems I have to amend?
So with all of theirs mine can surely contend.
This poem apparently went way over your head
And will be asleep soon in my nice, new bed
As usual poems will be pulling at the seams
Wanting to become part of all of my dreams.
How I hated to put all of you down like this
If single one of my poems you were to miss
You would have missed something fantastic
Which were found one day ending up a classic.
I will also truly promise without advent of fail
To some of you poems will not attempt to email
Being as busy as I know all of you all are
While I am becoming a shining rising star.
