When I was a small child My life was filled with grief sadness and tragedy And in time my thoughts and words turned inward I became fascinated with nature Sometimes found talking to flowers and forest trees The past calling me from old crumbling buildings When I was a small child Written in my poems Experiences from my own personal sad life In the beginning words just fell on white Later my words became more meaningful I have lingered long with form rhyme and syllables Have pondered the writings of the late great poets Written in my poems Their writing inspires me I rebel like a wild vine growing in nature I like my poems untidy and messy uncontrolled Perhaps often I write non-metrical My poetry repeatedly tells a true story Each day I study the style of late great poets Their writing inspires me At last finding my Zen I can see quite clearly the map of my life Past destinations so dark and scary And then some so lovely and wonderful I have the power to chose where my mind wanders Yet would I change one single day of my life no At last finding my Zen ____________________ December 15, 2017 Poetry/Narrative/I am a Writer Copyright Protected, ID 17-9722-56-0 All Rights Reserved. This is awesome! I like this style as i prefer (what i describe as) the chaos poetry over strict structures. Both are good it's just easier for me to write with chaos. You can write in any form and that is what makes you a writer.

Deep, captivating and beautiful Broken Wings. I like this style of writing, it suits your gifted story-telling so well. Your poem is fascinating, intimate, as so many of your fabulous writes are, and meaningful. Good luck in the contest..

I was inspired to write this poem, by the poems of W.S, Merwin, 1927- present, an American poet, who wrote unpunctuated narratives, each line capitalized and with varied syllables, he called it open form. His poems always tell a story. I have yet to study all his writings, but I liked this very much.
