I Am

I am a chocolate milk child of Scooby-Doo Saturdays The leggings-clad, laced-gloved Material Girl teenager Who will soon be a half-century Who is mother to no son or daughter Who parents a household of four legs and fur Some days I am the bride Some days, the dishwasher Some days I am Florence Nightingale Some days, Lizzie Borden Some days, I am pleased with what I finish Some days, I don't know where to begin Some days, I am a bridge Some days, a wall Some days I am the lift Some days, the fall Some days I am the structure of silk Some days I am patchwork plaid Some days I am the rock of reason Some days, the wind of chaos Some days I am an apostle of ink Some days I am a pagan page In ambitious acceptance and calm confusion Like a rainbow - I am an illusion. 5/05/20 For 'I Am - Bio Challenge' contest Sponsor: Andrea Dietrich

Happy to come back for a rebound of congratulations and to walk through your creatively written 'I am' bio again. You have a winsome humility that shines through as you display both sides of the coin of you, not to mention your characteristic wit and another great poetic ending.

Reading again. Imaginative way to describe yourself. Loved the last two lines. It definitely takes half a century to reach such a definite honest conclusion. Best. Mohan

Wonderful you! One line is over my head, "Some day, the fall." Did you mean the 'Fall guy/person," as in blamed? shalom/Peace, anil deo

Thank you, Anil - so that line refers to being sad, depressed; "the fall" as in your spirit, or mood, falling - I appreciate your visits - shalom and peace also.

Oh I love this! I've been afraid to touch this one, thinking too literally and scaring myself; but I relate to this SO much! Except that I had to look up who Lizzie Borden was, my mother would have known ;), This a winner for me, good luck in the contest! xomo

I'd better be looking out on those Lizzie Borden days, haha! I know what you mean though. I love all your wonderful images (bridge/wall/lift/fall). You speak for so many of us who have a gamut of what 'I Am' means. So nice to get to know you better, Michelle, even the oxymoron aspects (to which I so relate!) Well done, I know this will do well in Andrea's contest ~ John
