I dreamt, I had butterfly wings,
oh, they were incredible things;
and with my wings I flew away,
to a dreamland fantasy place.
I drifted a forest with grace,
and everything is bright and gay;
oh, hummingbird became my friend,
and all around red leaves descend.
My green hummingbird wants to play,
among the tangled trees we fly;
down low, around and way up high,
and birds chirp at the sun's first ray.
I dreamt, I had butterfly wings,
and wore curly twisted green rings;
each moment for nighttime I pray,
if only life I could erase.
And leave this earth without a trace,
to forever in this dream stay;
friend "hummer" does not comprehend,
why stay in this world of pretend.
Where nothing ever see's decay,
his loud words made me weep and cry;
then he touched my cheek with a sigh,
now come beauty and with me lay.
As I sleep, close to me he clings,
then, I am in bed. oh dismay!
best I hide these gauzy wing- THINGS
