Hurt In Her Eyes

I've waited so long out here all alone.
Gazing at the water I think of you.
Reaching in my pocket I grab my phone.

Neither of us is perfect, that is true.
If I make the call will you come to me?
Gazing at the water I think of you.

When I walked out the door I couldn't see.
The hurt in your eyes that I'm sure was there.
If I make a call will you come to me?

A cool wind comes up and blows through my hair.
There are many things I have put you through.
The hurt in your eyes that I'm sure was there.

My flaws are many, I have quite a few.
Even though I didn't wish to cause you pain.
There are many things I have put you through.

I will beg you, to be with me again.
Even though I don't wish to cause you pain.
I've waited so long out here all alone.
Reaching in my pocket I grab my phone.

Do not worry, this is merely a poetic wandering.
I would do nothing to cause my sweetie this kind of pain.

Have you seen this new show called The Affair? I think it is on showtime. Awesome show and this poem made me think of it.

This is full of yearning and a desperation to make things right. Oh if everyone could feel this way when they have caused pain the world would be a much better place. I knew when I started reading that you could not possibly be talking about you and your lovely wife.

Richard, Very well-done here!! This is one form I've not yet done. (I must write one sometime!!) You've capture the heart pain and the readers' attention so very well here. Enjoyed this one immensely!! Best Always, Gary

The hardest part is having the last stanza fit with the first.

Another sweet terzanelle. What a fabulous write. This is YOU, Richard. You OWN this form. I love this piece, and no...you didn't need that post script. You are a man of honor. Hugs

Certain it is my friend, Richard, that your heart could never cause pain to another, especially this period of love! Wonderful verse that shows the agony, regret and hope of the person in love! A phone call may alleviate all this thus make the call! Wonderful and tender poem, my friend!

Wow, Richard, this is good. There is so many times doubt wanders, pick up the phone, take that chance and answers come, whether they are wanted or not, the unknown is the scariest. I enjoyed your write my friend, :)
