Hi nice poem. It is a 5,6,5 which does not make it a customary Haiku.

Ronald, I appreciate your complimenting my haiku. By the way, most of my haiku are 5-7-5, but they do not have to be. For example, the first place winner of the 2000 Henderson haiku contest, sponsored by the Haiku Society of America: ~ meteor shower ~ a gentle wave ~ wets our sandals - That winning haiku is 5-4-4. The poet, Michael Dylan Welch, had this to say about the matter: "With English-language haiku, you have no need to persist in any adherence to the... 5-7-5 syllables." Michael's wrath is plastered all over my backyard, but Virginia got merely the outer fringe so I feel blessed. Truth is I enjoyed all the rock n roll in my yard last night! Hope all is well in your world???? I don't know where you are. Poetry hugs ... CayCay (oh, enjoyed the POWER in your Haiku)

Thanks, CayCay. Michael hit our area of central Georgia less than an hour after it dropped from a Cat 1 to a tropical storm. So all is well in my world and I feel blessed too :) Thanks for stopping by to spread some encouragement my way!
